ISO 14001 Certification in Angola

ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management, and it is now a qualification requirement in construction, extractive industry, energy and agro-processing, both for international clients and for access to financing with environmental requirements. AGH prepares your company to meet it; DQS certifies.

What the standard requires

The company must identify the environmental aspects of its activity and the impacts that result from them, know and comply with legal requirements, define environmental performance objectives, control operations with environmental risk, be prepared for emergencies and monitor results, within a cycle of continual improvement.

What AGH does for you

We survey environmental aspects and impacts, verify legal compliance, produce the documentation and procedures, train the team and conduct the internal audit. This is our preparation service, delivered until the company is ready for the certification audit.

What DQS does

DQS, an accredited and independent certification body, carries out the certification audit and issues the certificate, which is contracted and paid to DQS. AGH is DQS's exclusive Channel Partner in Angola.

How long it takes

A typical journey for a small or medium company runs from five to nine months, depending on the environmental complexity of the operation, the sites involved and the initial state of legal compliance. The diagnosis sets the timetable.

How much it costs

Two separate costs: AGH's fees for preparation and the certification audit contracted to DQS. Both depend on size and scope, and are set following the free diagnosis.

The new 2026 version

ISO 14001:2026 has already been published, on 15 April 2026, and companies certified to the 2015 version have until April 2029 to transition. The revision strengthens the integration of climate change and emissions, the principles of the circular economy, consideration of biodiversity and a more practical life cycle perspective. We are already preparing to the updated version, so you start out aligned with what buyers and financiers will require.

Frequently asked questions

No. It requires knowing and controlling impacts, and improving in a planned way.
